i am visiting my parents in cleveland for a few days. an interesting observation last night: due to the relative silence and lack of auditory stimulii, my ears have begun ringing, fairly loudly, almost deafeningly. i wonder if this will persist throughout my stay here. my hypothesis is that my ears, used to constant noise, are starving/not used to the silence and are actually generating this high frequency pitch. any other ideas from the readers? :)
note: this was my first venture outside the island of manhattan in the last 3 1/2 months...
p.s. i also saw a live deer peering at me from the "state of nature" -- there was something unsettling about that. he just stared at me, with a dumb look.
